The stories displayed below were created by pupils from Hillhead Primary School, Glasgow, during a story-making workshop that took place on Friday, 30th September 2022 as part of the University of Glasgow’s ARCadia festival.
We took along a selection of objects and photos that we’d collected in the first year or so of the project, from all over Scotland from the Rhinns of Galloway, to the Trossachs, up to the Orkney Islands and back down to Fife, Edinburgh and the eastern Borders. As the pupils from Hillhead demonstrated, far from being a bit of junk that could be tossed aside as useless, every object and photo was a treasure trove of stories.
Thank you to these young people from Hillhead Primary – your stories have helped to turn trash into treasure.
