Silly string and a bag of confetti, once a celebration and now just a memory.
A memory of laughter and a memory of waste.
Co-existing somewhere in the universe.
A moment of ecstasy for a lifetime of decay. Is it all worth it? I don’t know, but it is here to stay. My thinking stems from the frustration of one-use objects as a source of joy. Can we find more sustainable sources of joy? Why are tools such as confetti necessary to mark importance to an event?
